Congress is looking to make Pizza a vegetable in school lunches

It seems that Congress wants to make pizza an official vegetable in school lunches, cafeterias, etc. They want to make it official because it has tomato paste.   “Despite lacking significant nutritional content, the thin layer of the sauce is good enough to be a vegetable”  is what they say.    Also since schools have little money nowadays and  they need to feed the children something cheap but healthy and pizza is cheap but isn’t considered healthy, they cannot buy it unless the statement was passed.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture had established healthier guidelines earlier this year, but they received complaints from school districts about the added cost.  Even though pizza is a popular meal (or snack, now), it should not be considered a vegetable.
In my opinion I think this would be a GREAT idea if Tomato was actually a vegetable, and not a fruit.   Maybe this was a joke?  If it was, it doesn’t matter, it wasn’t approved.
