One of the greatest British football managers in history, Alex Ferguson has long proved his worth as coach of Manchester United. Alex Ferguson has been Manchester United’s coach for over 25 years now and he is still as good as he was before when he started, which was in the year 1986.
Many football fanatics say he is the best coach in the history of Manchester United and maybe even of the Barclay’s Premier League. To show their appreciation towards Alex Ferguson the Manchester United employers gave him a twenty-fifth anniversary tribute. For the first time in Old Trafford history, which is Man United’s stadium and was first used in 1910, the northern stand of the stadium will be named in honor of a football manager, which would be Alex Ferguson himself. In addition to this extraordinary event they will also make a statue of Alex Ferguson which will be erected just outside the stand’s entrance. The statue will be sculpted by the renowned sculptor named Phil Jackson and the statue may be finished hopefully by August of 2012. Alex Ferguson really is very important, in fact a chief executive, David Gill stated: “To be at a club of our standing so long is truly remarkable. Sir Alex Ferguson has established himself as the most successful manager in British football history, winning countless trophies and creating numerous sides admired around the world for their flair and ability”.
Sir Alex Ferguson was filled with good emotions for he felt proud to work for the greatest football club in the world as he said. Several of his achievements are five F.A. Cups, ten Community Shields, four Football League Cups, twelve Premier Leagues, etc. In his entire career with Manchester United he has worked with legendary players such as Cantona, Schmeichel, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Bobby Charlton. In spite of all his recognizable achievements there is no greater legacy of Alex Ferguson as the two U.E.F.A. Champion’s Leagues he won for the team, which are the two out of the only three Champion’s League titles Manchester United has today. He will always be remembered in Manchester United and F.I.F.A. as one of the greatest football trainers in history and his strategies will pass from generation to generation carrying his name in history. Alex Ferguson was a great man, but greater trainer there is none.
